Assam's Govt has dispatched the Arundhati Gold Scheme to give Rs. 40 Thousand to ladies/Brides whose marriage has been enrolled/reg. under the Special Marriage Act

 

As per provisions of the Arundhati Gold Scheme, the state government provides Rs 40,000 (forty Thousand) to ladies from families with an annual income of less than Rs 5 lakhs, provided the wedding is registered below Special Marriage Act, 1954.

 

The Assam government on Thursday launched a scheme to provide nearly 10 gm ("tola")  of gold to newly married brides from economically backward families in Assam.

As per provisions of the Arundhoti Gold Scheme, the state government Assam provides Rs  Forty Thousand (40,000)  to brides from families with an annual income of less than Rs 5 lakhs , provided the wedding is registered below 1954, Special Marriage Act.

 

Both the bride and groom need to accomplish lawful period/legal age of marriage for i.e. 18 (eighteen ) for bride and 21 (twenty one) for groom and must have passed at least Class 10 to be eligible for the scheme. The bride can avail the benefit only for her 1st wedding.

"The goal of this Arundhoti Gold Scheme is to encourage the guardians of the girl child who are economically not extremely stable, however like all different guardians want to give some gold, which is viewed as favorable, to their girls as blessing at the hour of marriage," chief minister Assam Sarbananda Sonowal said while launching the Gold Scheme.

The Assam CM urged newly Married couples to urge their weddings registered so as to uphold the dignity of the establishment of marriage. Nearly hundred couples from thirty districts of the state Assam were gift at the launch ceremony on Thursday.

 

According to AssamGovt figures, a total of 1121 couples who had got married this year and had registered their marriages had applied for the Orundhoti Gold Scheme out of that 587 were
